Okay, technically, it’s impressive

But doesn’t Tony Jaa know that this four-minute long-take steadicam fight scene is emotionally hollow???

    WOW!

Is that from a movie? or just some random fight short film on youtube?

That was AMAZING on several levels.

Though I assume you were being facicious, if that is meant to be it’s own short film, there’s really no plot, so sure, that could be emotionally hollow. I mean, where’s the character arc?

But DAMN! That was frickin’ amazing!!!

It is from a movie–click “more” at the YouTube page to read about it.

And I’m definitely being facetious–it’s a reference to a lot of critics I’ve talked about recently who have accused films that use showy long takes of being too artificial.

    It’s definitely rad!

    I figured, on both counts.

I’ve got to rent that! I love long shots like that, such as the scene in the Sopranos where Furio walks into the brothel to kick ass, or that scene in Children of Men.

    Amazing.
