Recently I wrote about “Voodoo-U” by Lords of Acid and “Born Slippy .NUXX” by Underworld for my tumblr about music and coolness, Cool Practice.
(I used to call all fast-paced electronic dance music “techno” — was that a common thing, like how all non-punks used to refer to all punk and post-punk people by shouting “DEVO!” at them?)

Not a common thing over this side of the pond. Back in the late 80s/very early 90s almost all dance music could be usefully referred to as House, a convention which continued alongside the advent of sub genre categories (acid house, techno, garage, etc…) started to appear but which seemed to die out completely with the advent of hardcore and jungle, which I suppose represented a sharp break aesthetically speaking from what had gone before.
Good reviews, by the way.
