Does Doyle wink?

Do you know what I’m talking about? I didn’t think he did the first time I watched 28 Weeks Later, and I’m rewatching it and I still don’t think so. But it was obviously in the promos, and I’ve heard people talk about it being in the movie too. Can anyone else out there with the DVD confirm or disconfirm this suspicion?

Also? What a great movie.

I was planning on rewatching the two movies this week and will see what I see. Or don’t see.

    Thanks Bruce!

To prep you, I’ll just say that IF the wink is in that sequence, it takes place during a shot where it’s a LOT less clear than it is in the commercials and trailers.

What, when he’s about to get fried by the flamethrowers? I haven’t seen it since it came out in theaters.

Oh, wait… He was in the OTHER motel room!!!!!

He definitely doesn’t wink in the film. I rewatched the trailer, and I can see where that shot would go in the sequence, but no, it’s not in the film. Having freshly rewatched the trailer, I’m gonna say that I think cutting it helped with the emotional pacing of the scene.

By the way, 28 Weeks Later has the just plain best use of fire as a beautiful horror since ID4 and Backdraft, I think.

Thank you for confirming that I’m not going crazy or blind, Bruce!

Dude, if I want to say “Sean is sane and perceptive”, I’ll be much clearer about it. Don’t leap to conclusions just yet.
