And wasn’t it interesting how one Kiel Phegley sent an e-mail not 15 minutes into the show stating “Chuck’s uncle is my new hero.” It mirrors Melvin Caylo’s love for Chuck in the pilot.
“Hark! A damsel in distress, and not from me! TO THE CHUCKMOBILE!”
NOTE: My e-mail was written and sent while Chuck’s uncle was on the staircase at the opera making sassy retorts. How was I to have foreseen the third act twist that revealed him as an adult version of pilot Chuck? I could not have known!!!
This was a really great episode (excellent turnaround from last week’s subpar effort), but I gotta say, I think they played the Dan/Serena reunion card too early. I know I’m the lovey dovey guy in the minority who actually cares more about that relationship than Chuck/Blair, but I really do think it’s the heart of the show, and now that it looks like they’re headed for breakup #2, I wish they’d just foregone this mini-relationship and saved their ultimate reconciliation for further down the line.
