I did a lot of writing at San Diego over at Comic Book Resources, but I suppose the newsiest things are this piece on the sell-out of the buzz book of the show, Watchmen, and other popular books at the con, and a pair of interviews with Comic-Con International spokesperson David Glanzer about the state of the show, its potential move out of San Diego, crowd issues and so forth. I hope you like them.

“the buzz book of the show, Watchmen

Was that as surreal to type as it was to read?

  2. Jim Treacher says:

I wonder if Moore is giving all the extra book royalties to Gibbons?

  3. Ken Lowery says:

Why on earth would he do that?

I thought he did as much to David Lloyd when V FOR VENDETTA was adapted. Or maybe he gave the money to charity. I’m too tired to look up which.

Yes, it’s beyond weird to see all the interest for the book now. No, I don’t think the movie will suck. It might fail as an adaptation, but I’m optimistic. And I don’t say that often.

i remember seeing about 3 Watchmen TPB’s at one of those booths selling graphic novels at half off. in the time i was in that booth browsing, those books were snapped up so fast.

and it’s still holding steady on Amazon’s best-selling list at #3. not too shabby.
